MaineHealth Neurosurgery & Spine is currently seeking a BC/BE fellowship-trained, Spine Neurosurgeon to join our team-based practice. The ideal candidate would be 4-10 years out of residency with a strong background in general neurosurgery in addition to their fellowship training. A focus on minimally invasive spine surgery is ideal. As an attending physician at MaineHealth Neurosurgery & Spine, research is encouraged and will be supported as developed.

The Position
- Join a dynamic practice that has a clinical focus on complex spine, including pediatric and adult spinal deformity surgery, functional neurosurgery, tumor and skull base surgery, cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery and the only Pediatric Neurosurgeon in Maine.
- Your colleagues will be nine fellowship-trained Neurosurgeons and a team of highly trained physiatrists, osteopaths, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, and nurses.
- In-house coverage is provided by Advanced Practice Professionals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Call responsibilities are shared evenly with the group, approximately 1:8, and will include both cranial and spine.
- Ready access to CT and MRI 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Neurocritical care is provided by a separate team at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Licensed for 700 beds, MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland is Maine’s largest medical center.
- The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital is Maine’s only dedicated children’s hospital, a 116-bed tertiary care pediatric hospital within MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland.
- MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland is Maine’s only ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Neurosurgery & Spine is part of the Neuroscience Service Line at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland, a regional center of excellence in neurosciences.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Neurological Surgery
- Completion of Fellowship/specialty training
- Background in general neurosurgery
