Responsibilities
- Evaluate : Assess speech, language, and swallowing skills
- Diagnose : Identify the underlying causes of communication disorders
- Treat : Create and implement treatment plans to address functional needs
- Teach : Help clients improve their voice, pronunciation, and fluency
- Counsel : Provide guidance to patients and their families
- Collaborate : Work with other healthcare professionals, educators, and families
- Screen : Conduct screenings to identify at-risk patients
- Monitor : Track patient progress and adjust treatment plans
- Document : Maintain accurate patient records
- Train : Provide training and support to caregivers and educators
Education and requirements
Master's degree in speech-language pathology and a valid state license or certification.
