What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at HealthCore Clinic?
Healthcore Clinic is looking for full time and part time Medical Assistants. Our Medical Assistants are responsible for performing routine administrative tasks to assist the Providers and other health practitioners with patient care to ensure quality and efficiency. In addition to administrative duties, Medical Assistants perform routine and some non – routine clinical duties in accordance to state law under the direction of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Full time hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Part time hours are Monday thru Thursday, 3:00pm-7:00pm and three Saturdays a month, 8:00am-12:00pm

Qualifications and Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
- Current and valid certification to practice as a Medical Assistant required.
- One (1) year of previous experience in a medical assistant role highly preferred.
- Has a demonstrated and proficient understanding of medical terminology.
- Able to support the mission, philosophies, goals, and objectives of the HealthCore Clinic.
- Have a positive, friendly and professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Assist with gathering data and inputting data into databases.
- Strong computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong office skills including accurate typing, data entry, and filing.
- Able to operate office machinery, i.e. copiers, fax machines, multi-line telephone.
- Attention to detail and ability to compose and generate documents and reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vulnerable populations including those made vulnerable by their financial status, personality characteristics, place of residence, health status and/or age.
- Able to complete and submit required documentation on time.
- Understand and operate within policy, rules, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Ability to work productively with internal and external customers.
- Adept at working well with team members.
- Demonstrated positive work ethic.
- Keep supervisor informed about progress and problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills.

Additional Essential Functions include the following.
Scans and faxes medical records to other doctors, labs, and other approved places as requested; Cleans exam rooms after each patient visit.; stocks exam rooms; Cleans and sterilizes instruments. Other duties as assigned. The successful candidate for this position will also be comfortable in a setting around patients, capable of performing patient care and capable of carrying out clinical responsibilities. This is for full time and part time positions.
