Job Summary: Provides enthusiastic, energetic group exercise class leadership for various types of exercise classes- schedule varies on intructor availability. Classes vary on instructor experience and certifications. The position of Group Exercise Instructor would lead group exercise classes that are open to all members. The type of exercise classes can vary from general mobility and balance, to strength training, to interval and endurance training.

Schedule:

• Center Location: Morgantown, WV
• Type of Employment: Per diem/PRN  
• Hours: Varies (2-3 classes per week)
• Salary: Starting at $25/hour (Pending experience) 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Serves as the group leader for various exercise classes.
• Maintains records, as required, for exercises classes led.
• Maintains cleanliness of the exercise site following classes.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw andinterpret bar graphs
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• HS diploma/GED required:
  • Or one to three months of related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience, including education leading to certification in various aspects of group exercise leadership.
• Cerfication from a national or internatinal group cerifying body (AFAA)

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach withhands and arms, talk or hear, and perform the exercises being led.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depthperception.
