Summary:
The Claims Recovery Specialist is a full-time position, responsible for monitoring and ensuring claims submitted to the health plan are paid out accordingly.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- -Communicates with health plans regarding patient claims, related topics, overpayment, claim denials, short payment
- Maintains and organizes claim and patient files
- Responsible for making inbound and outbound calls to health plans, providers, patients, and group administrators to resolve claim inquiries
- Responsible for billing claims to various health plans
- Responsible for posting payments received from various health plans
- Responsible for obtaining prior authorizations from various health plans
- Verifies eligibility and benefit questions from patients, providers, and internal staff
- Other duties assigned by manager
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to effectively multitask.
- Time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a critical thinker who can successfully trouble shoot and solve problems.
- Experience with managed care plans preferred but not required
- Experience in prior authorization procedures preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Excel preferred but not required
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in claims processing, medical billing, claim recovery or related medical administrative work
- Certification/Degree in Medical Billing and Coding preferred but not required

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
