The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting monthly and annual close processes, and assisting with audits and financial reporting. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong internal controls and supporting organizational financial goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform and review general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational accounting policies
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support grant and restricted fund accounting
Month-End & Year-End Close
- Lead or support month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare adjusting journal entries and supporting documentation
Audit & Compliance
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Support implementation and monitoring of internal controls
Process Improvement & Support
- Identify and recommend process improvements for accounting efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial accuracy and reporting needs
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, leagues, and community organizations.
- Support association-wide events, initiatives, and outreach efforts.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency in DAXKO Accounting software.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Salary : $80,000 - $97,000
