THIS IS A FULL TIME PAID POSITION!
JOB OVERVIEW:
- Candidate will be assigned to operate a variety of equipment such as FORKLIFTS, TOW MOTORS, LARGE FLAT BED TRUCKS and small to medium size DUMP TRUCKS.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / SKILLS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate forklifts, tow motors and trucks of various sizes and weights, in the loading, unloading and hauling of equipment, materials and supplies on Company Property.
- Ability to drive and operate the equipment under various weather conditions.
- Ability to operate and maintain the equipment in a safe manner at all times, following all safety precautions, such as utilizing seatbelt restraints, headlights, horns and specific safety devices located in the equipment itself.
- Perform required before, during and after operation inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment to locate defects or needed repairs.
- Ability to maintain the cleanliness of assigned equipment as directed by management.
- Ability to follow verbal and or written instructions.
- Ability to establish working relationships with other employees and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Acceptable attendance, following the established Company policies.
- Please note overtime is an essential function of this position.
- Additional tasks and duties as assigned, to support and improve the overall team operations.
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Environment is that of a heavy industrial worksite.
- Outdoor elements are a factor. Extreme weather conditions such as heat and cold.
- Exposure to air particles, such as dust, chemical (paint, oil, gas, diesel fumes) and weld smoke.
- Exposure to loud, penetrating noises in some work areas.
- Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, such as, steel toed, metatarsal boots, ear plugs/ear muffs, safety glasses, long sleeved shirts and pants, hard hats and possible respirator use.
- This is a safety-sensitive position. A safety sensitive job or position is where the employee holding the position has, at any time during his or her employment, the responsibility for his or her own safety or the safety of others
EDUCATION/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous work experience in a heavy industrial or construction environment is preferred however, it is not a requirement.
- Knowledge, use and repair of various types of construction and or heavy equipment.
