This role is office hybrid and based at our Louisville, KY location.

What the Role Is
The Marketing Procurement Specialist is responsible for promotion development and project management related to sourcing a wide range of point of sale (POS) materials. This may include working with a portfolio of vendors, analyzing and negotiating quotes, handling print material production, developing special packaging, development of retail and on-premise POS & allocations, assisting with special events, initiating purchase orders, and tracking timelines, and project milestones. In conjunction, one will also manage (POS) inventories, monitor POS usage, and catalog key brand and competitive information.

The Marketing Procurement Specialist will be aligned with a Heaven Hill marketing team. Additionally, this position will work closely with different marketing team members, sales team, external agency partners, accounts payable and receivable, production, and customer service representatives to support various projects/brands. Duties will also include budget management as well as purchase order and invoice management.

How You Will Spend Your Time?
  • Manage POS sourcing process from end-to-end including idea development, RFP development and experience, negotiation, artwork development & approval, shipping timelines and budget mgmt
  • Manage POS & special pack budgets on behalf of brand team
  • Initiate and manage purchase orders and invoice processing for all brand activity
  • Assist in the creative development of POS, displays, special packs, rebates, etc. working with graphics team
  • Manage and coordinate special packs and print material production
  • Regularly obtain feedback from the field sales on quality, design and effectiveness of POS
  • Stay up to speed on new and innovative ways to merchandise the brand through POS
  • Manage POS inventories and usage working with fulfillment company
  • Analyze and use sales data for POS and special pack allocation management
  • Work closely with Regional & Area Sales Managers on the execution of local market POS program needs
  • Manage vendor relationships including new vendor procurement and vendor compliance
  • Work collaboratively/coordinate with all Marketing Procurement Specialists on vendors, processes, best practices as they relate to purchasing
  • Work cross-functionally with all departments including operations, sales, accounts payable, creative services, communications and corporate events

Who You Are…
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management or related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ work-related experience specifically in POS Fulfillment and Procurement
  • Strong project management and organizational/time management skills
  • Able to prioritize and juggle multiple and competing priorities at once
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently as a self-starter
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability of learn quickly and apply learnings to tasks
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external contacts
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Comfortable expressing ideas in a group setting
  • Creative thinking as it pertains to new point of sale ideas
  • High proficiency using Excel as well as expertise in all Microsoft products and Google websites
  • Project management software proficiency
  • Possess quality oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with print production and design terminology preferred.
  • Capacity to travel as needed (approximately 5-10% of time)

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a distilled spirits industry

Physical Requirements

While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
