Job Summary:
Heitmeyer has banking client that has a need within their Transformation Office for a Portfolio Manager to own the overall strategic initiative roadmap and support overall view and analytics around technology and business projects.
Job Description:
The Portfolio Manager will develop the full portfolio planning for the enterprise including the alignment on a portfolio management technology, development of capacity and resource planning views, create the forum for reviewing the portfolio while building the reporting and analytics infrastructure around key initiatives to capture current status, interdependencies and support decision making, prioritization and future plans. The role will manage all communication regarding the portfolio for senior leaders and stakeholders to understand the current state and drive future enhancements.
Top Required Skills:
- Must have solid PMO / Transformation Office experience – prefer 5 years – managing portfolio of initiatives with a focus on agile delivery.
Proven record successfully managing a large portfolio of strategic initiatives:
Ownership of entire program list.
- Ability to understand current status and provide insights on upcoming deliverables, timelines, challenges, actions required.
- Monitor program risks and issues and contribute to solutions through root cause analysis.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities for the Transformation Office.
Manage and administer enterprise-wide project management tools.
Strong skills within Analytics including:
Developing status reports.
- Maintain all critical data elements.
- Provide reporting mechanisms and standards.
- Apply data visualization techniques to create and maintain dashboards. Prefer Tableau.
Identify trends and patterns within the data.
Work closely with division leaders from Technology, Operations and multiple Lines of Business to understand business needs.
- Working knowledge of Confluence and JIRA platforms.
- Executive-level communication with High EQ – ability to present to senior leadership and across all levels within the bank.
- Action-oriented individual to take lead on pushing through roadblocks and hitting milestones.
Nice-to-have:
- Strongly prefer industry-leading portfolio management certifications – LPM, PfMP. Additional certifications like PMP or Lean Six Sigma for program and process improvement.
- Background within financial services would be extremely beneficial but not required – need to be able to navigate across partners including Technology, InfoSec, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance.
- Experience pulling data out of JIRA and into Tableau.
Top Responsibilities:
- Develop long-term resource planning that will include capacity inputs across impacted teams and provide view on resource availability and alignment.
- Lead efforts to select portfolio management tool that will meet the needs of the firm long term along with integrated program planning and documentation efforts.
- Create and maintain program dashboards and reporting to provide trends and insights for senior leadership regarding the health of portfolio initiatives, interdependencies, risk and issues.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts for the Transformation Office to improve support of all stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular cadence of portfolio reviews to drive the effective delivery of projects and support continuous learning and improvement for the Transformation Office.

Salary : $120,000 - $200,000
