Position Overview:
The Community Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in building relationships with community stakeholders, educating the public about our services, and connecting clients to compassionate and high-quality home care.
This role is responsible for creating outreach strategies, planning and attending events, and maintaining a strong local presence to grow awareness, referrals, and partnerships that reflect the mission and values of Helena Angelcare LLC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the face of the agency within the community; represent the agency at events, health fairs, community meetings, and partner sites
- Develop, implement, and evaluate outreach strategies to grow referral sources and strengthen community relationships
- Collaborate with local organizations, churches, hospitals, senior centers, community service boards, support coordinators and nonprofits to promote services
- Maintain a calendar of outreach and engagement activities, including reporting outcomes and next steps
- Design and distribute promotional materials (flyers, brochures, digital content) to appropriate audiences
- Conduct presentations or informational sessions about agency services to target populations and partners
- Track engagement metrics and community feedback to evaluate effectiveness
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment in messaging and follow-up
- Identify client/community needs and recommend service enhancements to leadership
- Support client satisfaction efforts and gather testimonials or success stories when appropriate
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services, Communications, Public Health, or related field preferred
- At least 2 years of community outreach, public relations, or client engagement experience, preferably in healthcare or social services
- Passionate about serving vulnerable populations with dignity and respect
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong cultural competency and the ability to work with diverse communities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using digital outreach tools (social media, email campaigns, etc.)
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for outreach events
- Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualities:
- Knowledge of home care, senior services, or Medicaid waiver programs
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
- Prior experience working in Baltimore or surrounding communities
- Positive attitude, resourceful, and solutions-focused
Work Schedule:
- Primarily weekdays with occasional evenings or weekends for events
- Must be flexible to meet outreach needs and travel locally as required
Compensation:
- $15.00/hr., plus referral
- Mileage reimbursement provided for travel
- Performance bonuses
