Overview
Helio Health is seeking experienced Licensed Mental Health / SUD Counselors for our Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center (ICSC) in Syracuse, NY. The Licensed Counselors will provide urgent response and/or treatment services to patients experiencing an acute mental health and/or substance use crisis. The ICSC operates on a 24/7 basis providing opportunities for day, evening, and overnight schedules.
Counselors are eligible to participate in Loan Forgiveness Programs and are eligible for Overtime Pay. Additionally, all Full-Time Counselors with QHP designation are eligible for a Sign-On Incentive up to $8,000 depending upon licensure!
Responsibilities
- Maintain a case load of individuals seeking treatment with a variety of behavioral healthcare needs.
- Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, discharge planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
- Exhibit exemplary knowledge of the biopsychosocial process of substance use, addiction, behavioral health, self-help group processes, and principles of counseling.
- Provide evidenced-based counseling.
- Be a change agent for the community by providing person-centered, strengths-based, harm reduction services.
- Maintain case records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Assist with the training of staff and student interns as assigned.
- Relate effectively with individuals served, Helio staff and the community while upholding appropriate standards of confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Qualified Health Professional (CASAC, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT or equivalent licensure or permit eligible)
- One year experience working as a licensed mental health and/or substance use counselor.
- Two years’ experience in the Human Services field working with individuals with mental health, substance use or co-occurring disorders preferred.
- Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required.
- Valid New York State Driver License, access to reliable transportation
- Proficiency with basic computer applications.
