The Pharmacy Technician (Operations) is responsible for assisting the pharmacy team in overall pharmacy operations and assisting with pharmacy orders through the HoG, Beacon and contract pharmacy operations. The position provides information to new clients and provides answers to potential clients of in-network pharmacy status. As a member of the pharmacy team, this position works inside the pharmacy department with the pharmacists and other technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma
- Three to five years general office experience
- CPhT - Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
- Be a registered pharmacy technician with the state of Georgia
- Two years customer service experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Become proficient in all software utilized in the pharmacies.
- Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work productively, effectively, and efficiently with customers, clients, co-workers, volunteers, and management.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the primary technician to assist in overall pharmacy operations.
- Under the pharmacist’s supervision, enter new prescriptions in database
- Manage factor orders for clients we serve as a contract pharmacy.
- Collaborate with contract HTC’s to assist with inventory and client orders.
- Maintain order history for all contract HTC’s.
- Provide and maintain all reporting required by contract HTC’s
- Assist pharmacist when necessary in dispensing factor orders.
- Assist shipping technician in daily checks/shipping.
- Serve as backup to review invoices for infusion supplies to ensure they are billed correctly. Research and resolve discrepancies.
- Check and prepare all factor orders for shipping.
- Communicate client problems to nurses, physicians, and social workers.
- Assist Pharmacist in processing, filling and shipping factor orders as needed.
- Assist Pharmacist in conducting inventory of factor as needed.
- Maintain infusion and shipping supplies stock rooms in an orderly manner. Refill infusion supply shelves as needed.
- Serve as back up to monitor the pharmacies’ refrigerator temperatures daily. Maintain daily temperature log.
- Help with shipping of WFH packages.
- Forward treatment calendars sent in by clients to the appropriate HTC.
- Receive inventory and reconcile packing lists against receipts. Research and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with Camp Wannaklot pharmacy operations set-up.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Serve on the Pharmacy Outreach Collaborative Committee (POCC)
- Attend annual Regional meeting
- Assist with development of pharmacy procedures. Notify VP of Human Resources when procedures require revision.
- Additional duties as assigned by Pharmacy team
