Overview:
This position is a field based role and will be on site and/or travel daily to job sites in Pennsylvania.
The Construction Supervisor provides overall direction and management for our outside plant construction projects and/or maintenance programs. The Construction Supervisor is the leader / manager of construction team that includes Craftsman, Field Engineers, and General Foreman. This position involves a high level of responsibility requiring strong management and supervision skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
- Manages and ensures customer's expectations for quality, schedule, and budget are satisfied
- Direct management of the operations portion of the project
- Reports performance data as required to management and customers
- Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives, other contractors, etc.
- Supervise craft employees and other contractors.
- Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
- Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
- Perform additional assignments per Supervisor's direction.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred
- 10 years Telecom utility construction experience in relevant operations management, construction management, and craft supervision experience
- Experience in all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
- Experience in understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards, and their impact on project activities.
- 100% overnight travel required
- Able to travel for extended periods of time at various locations.
