POSITION SUMMARY:
As part of the Labor Department team, the Union Benefits Coordinator will primarily support the Benefits Supervisor in the day-to-day tracking of fringe benefit contributions and related data entry, research, and response to Union Fund audit requests, and filing and scanning of contribution reports. With over 300 collective bargaining agreement, this position requires attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently. An understanding of basic accounting functions and previous accounts payable experience is preferred.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Scans and enters contribution reports and payments into system database
- Updates and distributes project activity tracker monthly
- Supports Pipeline division in weekly tracking and compiling of per-diem pay requirements
- Directly supports Supervisor in pulling information as requested by Fund auditors and weekly update of Audit tracking spreadsheets
- Performs filing and additional administrative support as needed or required for a special project
- Reviews and updates wage rate schedules into employee payroll database
QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Strong organizational skills; extremely detail oriented; ability to multi-task; works with a minimum of supervision
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills
- Exhibits behaviors of honesty, commitment to goal achievement and effective relationships with colleagues
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates Degree or 2 years of equivalent experience in business or labor relations
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
