Radiology Tech Lead

Job Summary:

Under the oversight of the Manager and/or Director of Imaging Services, the Lead Radiology Technologist provides patient care services utilizing diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging equipment in compliance with regulatory requirements.  Will perform general and advanced imaging procedures. The lead provides assistance to other technologists and is the primary point of contact for resolving issues and answering questions.  The lead assists in daily operational activities and workflow and is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the modality.  

Licensure and Certification:

• Current State of California (CRT) and Fluoroscopy credential.
• Current ARRT (R) credential required.
• Current BLS provider card required.

Education:

• Successful completion of JCERT approved school for Radiologic Technology program

Experience:

• Minimum five (5) years recent experience as a Radiologic Technologist, hospital experience preferred
• Experience preferred working in Stroke and Trauma Center
• Experience preferred in leading teams and allocating resources when census is high

• Ability to perform Quality Assurance Testing on all Imaging Equipment
• Proficiency in knowledge of CDPH requirements and JC requirements

• Competent to perform function detailed in specific job description as applicable

Physical Demands – Patient Care:

• Continuous standing/walking and occasional/intermittent sitting.
• Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and shoulder level to handle/operate medical equipment/devices.
• Frequent reaching above shoulder level and overhead.
• Frequent forward bending, twisting, squatting and kneeling; occasional climbing.
• Occasional repositioning and transferring patients weighing up to 200 pounds between bed, chair, and gurney.
• Occasional lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Occasional/intermittent pushing of gurneys, wheelchairs, bed and other medical equipment over tiled and carpeted surfaces.
• Continuous use of near vision to read medical equipment such as monitoring devices and reading documents and computer screens; hearing and verbal communication to interact with patients, co-workers, and other customers.
