Job Summary:
In collaboration with the Sr. Director, Outpatient Services, the RN Clinical Coordinator in the Infusion Center shares accountability for the 24 hour management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery, the management of human, fiscal and other resources, the development of personnel, compliance with regulatory and professional standards, unit strategic planning and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within the Infusion Center and the organization as a whole. Responsible for providing individualized, goal directed patient care to families and patients at the proficient level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Consistently models excellence in patient care and service excellence and contributes to unit leadership at a high level of proficiency.
Licensure and Certification:
Current California RN license
Current ACLS and BLS provider card
Chemotherapy certification
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred
Experience:
Five years current nursing experience in oncology.
Basic management experience including one (1) year progressive charge nurse experience.
BSN/Bachelor’s degree in related field may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
Master’s degree in related field may be substituted for 3 years of experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Current clinical knowledge of pathophysiology and advanced oncology nursing care with demonstrated ability to function as a clinical resource to nursing staff.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Effective two way communication skills (listening and speaking); strong interpersonal skills with staff, physicians, patients and their significant others.
Strong leadership and critical reasoning skills in clinical decision-making, planning and organizing, initiative and ingenuity, creativity, independent decision-making, problem solving, and ability to interpret data.
Ability to work effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams toward achieving a common goal in accordance with established timelines.
