Material Handler

Essential Functions: Shipping and loading trucks: checks identification, reports shortages or damage, moves, stores, stacks, and arranges Receives and unloads freight both manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks Inventory transfer: unloads, moves, and stores a variety of materials, parts, or products using standardized procedures Must be able to identify, record, and keep like parts together May be required to assist in weighing or counting materials Maintaining inventory records, inventory adjustments, ship confirmations, receiving tally and scrap entry Preform Cycle counts and other related duties Operate a power lift truck, hand truck, dolly, or other device May be required to be back up for shipping supervisor (print shippers, prepare BOL, etc) Wear the proper PPE for each task given Fills-in for other positions when needed Perform other related duties as directed Additional Requirements: Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds, and up to 100 pounds Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time Ability to work around hot heavy machinery Ability to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot/cold) Valid Tennessee Driver’s License Must have good written and oral communication skills Must have 2 years of shipping experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting Forklift experience Knowledge of Fed Ex or UPS systems Familiarity with inventory and scales Good communication skills Follow oral and written instructions and prints Multitask and self-motivated We are an equal opportunity employer.
