Whitewater Veterinary Hospital is a mixed animal Veterinary Practice looking for an experienced full-time Certified Veterinary Technician. We provide the highest level of veterinary medicine along with friendly, compassionate service. We believe in treating every patient as if they are our own; we pride ourselves in giving them the same loving attention and care as we would our own. Our Technician team is highly experienced and devoted to providing the highest quality nursing care to our patients.
This position will be approximately 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Animal restraint
- Triage of incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of lab samples
- Diagnostic imaging
- Care of surgical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
- Administration of medications
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Anesthetic management
- Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
- Care for and monitors the condition of animals recovering from surgery
- Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
- Perform laboratory tests on blood, urine, and feces such as urinalyses and blood counts to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of animal health problems
- Prepare and administers medications, vaccines, serums, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Take and develop diagnostic radiographs using x-ray equipment. Bathe animals, clip nails or claws
- Prepare treatment rooms for surgery.
- Clean kennels, animal holding areas, surgery suites, examination rooms, and animal loading/unloading facilities to control the spread of disease

- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- A self-starting team player with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
- Ability to receive constructive feedback in a professional manner to maintain hospital efficiency
- 1-year veterinary tech/assistant experience required
