What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Hermit Woods Winery & Sweet Mercy's Kitchen?
To maintain a friendly and welcoming environment for our dining guests and educate them about our food and wine offerings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take orders for dine-in guests, and serve food and drinks.
- Learn about and be able to present (not sell) our wines to guests competently
- Wash and polish glassware, assist with back-of-house dishes as needed
- Assist with opening and closing
- Greet every guest who walks in the door and describe our offerings
- Act as host for dine-in guests
- Conduct wine tastings once knowledgeable of our products
- Conduct sales transactions at the register
- Package wine and gifts
- Maintain a clean environment in the tasting room and restaurant
- Sweep floors, wash floors, dust, clean tables
Hermit Woods Winery crafts over 40 brands of wine for sale in our tasting room. We serve over 14,000 people per year in our tasting room and restaurant, and it is each one of our responsibilities to ensure that every guest leaves having had a positive experience and, when possible, learned something about wine. The customer is always right (even when they are not).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $3.27 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
