POSITION SUMMARY
Our client, whom we will refer to as Confidential Company, is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to work at their headquarters in Alvarado, Texas. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring accurate tracking of company assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses. This role will work closely with the CFO and other team members to uphold financial accuracy and support decision-making through timely reporting and reconciliations..

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings, including accruals, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank accounts and verify accuracy of cash deposits and disbursements.
- Maintain accounts payable and receivable records and resolve discrepancies.
- Support preparation for external audits, including gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal company policies.
- Assist with fixed asset tracking, depreciation schedules, and intercompany invoicing.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and files.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, sales, and operations teams as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the systems utilized by the organization, such as accounting software.
- Excellent math and budgeting skills required.
- Proficiency in understanding, speaking, and writing in English.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 1 to 3 years of accounting experience required.
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Accounting experience in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment preferred.
