Production Foreman

Description

The Production Foreman at Hershey's Ice Cream is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers involved in the manufacturing and packaging of ice cream products. This role ensures that production processes are efficient, safe, and meet quality standards. The Production Foreman will lead a team to achieve daily production goals, maintain equipment, and adhere to safety protocols, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise Production Activities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the production line, ensuring that production schedules are met.
  • Monitor the performance of production workers, providing guidance and feedback to ensure optimal efficiency and quality.
  • Coordinate with the Production Manager to implement production plans and adjustments as needed.
• Quality Control:
  • Ensure that all products meet Hershey's Ice Cream quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of products and processes to identify and address any issues.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to maintain compliance with food safety regulations.
• Team Leadership:
  • Train, mentor, and supervise production staff, fostering a team-oriented environment.
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Conduct safety audits and training sessions for production staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal regulations related to food production and worker safety.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  • Monitor the condition of production equipment and coordinate regular maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and work with the maintenance team to resolve them quickly.
  • Recommend improvements to equipment and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Inventory Management:
  • Monitor the use of raw materials and packaging supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to manage inventory and minimize waste.
• Reporting:
  • Prepare and submit daily production reports, including output, downtime, and any issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to analyze production data and identify areas for improvement.
