What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations position at HESCO (Industrial Automation & Networking)?

HESCO is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Operations to lead all aspects of our operational performance across warehouse, distribution, purchasing, and account support. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will drive operational excellence, streamline processes, implement performance standards, and align daily operations with long-term business goals.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in industrial distribution, inventory control, supply chain strategy, and using ERP data to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership across warehouse, purchasing, logistics, and account support
  • Developing and executing operational strategies that support company growth
  • Overseeing warehouse and distribution operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safety
  • Leading purchasing and supplier management, including contract negotiation and rebate optimization
  • Managing inventory accuracy, forecasting, demand planning, and KPI performance
  • Driving cross-department workflow improvements and maximizing ERP/EDI capabilities
  • Leading and developing high-performing operational teams and managers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 10 years in distribution/industrial operations, including 5 years in senior leadership
  • Proven success managing warehouse and purchasing functions with strong KPI and cost-control results
  • ERP expertise (Infor SX.e or CloudSuite preferred) and strong analytical, data-driven decision-making
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and change-management skills
  • Experience building high-performing teams in fast-paced environments
