As a Senior Interior Designer experienced in Healthcare (HC) and Science & Technology (S&T) and other project related sectors, you will collaborate with and be an integral part of project teams that strive to provide innovative solutions for the unique challenges of each project. Our portfolio includes the design of healthcare facilities, corporate headquarters, labs, museums, local, state, and federal government facilities, higher education buildings and campuses, and infrastructure improvements.
- Research materials and concepts to advise and support design team on technical issues influencing interior design concept development.
- Work within project schedules to prioritize tasks and coordinate the completion of documentation required from initial design phase through final project completion.
- Establish the programming, client's expectations of quality, and design goals for the project.
- Monitor the progress of the project to verify consistency with established design goals and objectives, and also evaluates the working relationships between the client/project manager and team. Facilitates, clarifies, or coaches as necessary.
- Work with the Practice Group Leaders and Principals and, as required, Market Sector Leaders to develop and implement office-based market sector strategies.
- Assist principals and project managers in developing scope of work, and fees.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally with multidisciplinary team members.
- Nurture HGA's existing client relationships and aligns internal teams and resources for the best client results.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors, to build high-performing teams and increase potential business opportunities.
- Provide input and assist with talent acquisition and staff development through active mentorship.
- Exhibit a leadership style and work ethic that demonstrates the highest degree of professionalism, energy, and dedication to the success of HGA.
- Support a culture of mentorship, coaching and guiding team members
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited Interior Design/Interior Architecture program or related field
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience at other architecture and/or interior design firms with a strong design focus and orientation on HC and S&T projects
- Professional licensure and/or certification required; LEED AP and EDAC strongly encouraged
- Knowledge of:
- Interior design concepts, materials, and furnishing requirements specific to HC and S&T projects - including concepts, practices, standards and principles.
- Thorough understanding of the technical process for large-scale interiors projects with a specific emphasis in the HC and S&T sector.
- Building materials, specifications and construction techniques
- Applicable codes (city, state, federal).
- Finish materials, FF&E selection and specification, interior design components for millwork / casework and construction detailing.
- Proficiency in Revit required; Experience with 3D visualization tools such as Enscape or SketchUp desired
- Fluent knowledge of adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent listening skills; Ability to anticipate and respond to client needs.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while integrating a high degree of attention to detail, organization and deadlines.
- Demonstrated network and established relationships in the industry.
- Prior coaching/mentoring of team members.
- Available for travel as-needed basis.
