Building technology engineering is a rapidly evolving industry segment. We are looking for professionals with strong aptitudes for systems thinking and interest in communications, networking, security (physical and cyber), audio/visual, web-based and app-enabled technologies to help us design the buildings of the future. 

 

This position requires well organized work processes, good people skills, effective communications style in both team settings and user groups, and a passion for high-quality design.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Works under the guidance of the Project Engineer in the design of project solutions and construction documents with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and constructability.
  • Creates plans and specification documentation communicating design intent and requirements to clients and contractors.
  • Performs engineering design calculations
  • Researches code issues and works with City, State and County officials.
  • Interacts and communicates effectively and professionally with clients and other team members.
  • Maintains, organizes and archives all project related documents
  • Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned
  • Use computer programs and modeling tools for complex engineering analysis and presentations.
  • Contribute to department design standards and protocols.
  • Qualifications

    Preferred candidates will have:

    • Technical degree or B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering or other applicable design and engineering fields.
    • Ability to obtain industry relevant certifications such as the BICSI RCDD, Avixa CTS or ASIS PSP is a plus.
    • Two to five years’ experience is preferred, but will consider other ranges
    • Proficiency with Revit software and excellent computer skills in Windows operating environment and Microsoft Office Suite essential
