Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled API Tester with 4–5 years of experience in testing RESTful and/or SOAP APIs. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in API automation, backend validation, and integration testing, along with a good understanding of microservices architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute API test cases for functional, regression, and integration testing
- Perform manual and automated API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar
- Validate API responses, status codes, headers, payloads, and schema
- Perform backend testing using SQL queries to validate data integrity
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand API requirements and business logic
- Automate API test suites and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines
- Conduct negative, boundary, and performance-related API testing
- Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA
- Ensure APIs meet security, reliability, and performance standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4–5 years of experience in API testing / backend testing
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs (SOAP knowledge is a plus)
- Hands-on experience with Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools
- Experience in API automation using Java/Python or equivalent
- Solid understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, Basic Auth)
- Good experience with SQL for database validation
- Familiarity with JSON/XML payloads and schema validation
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
