COLLEGE ACCESS SPECIALIST, TRIO EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY CENTERS (EOC)

Highland Community College is seeking a dedicated and motivated College Access Specialist to join our TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) team. This is a full-time, grant-funded position with a focus on providing essential college access services to individuals across Ogle, Carroll, Stephenson, and Winnebago counties. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead outreach events, informational sessions, and recruitment activities for prospective EOC participants.
- Provide academic advising, financial literacy guidance, and referrals to help participants prepare for college.
- Offer support for college preparation, including ACT/SAT preparation, college application and scholarship assistance, and financial aid applications.
- Develop and deliver workshops on topics like academic success, career development, and financial literacy.
- Assist participants in setting and achieving their personal, educational, and career goals.
- Provide resources and strategies to enhance career awareness, exploration, and job search skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in counseling, education, sociology, or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience working with low-income, first-generation students, other disadvantaged populations, or in a TRIO program setting.
- Strong ability to work with a diverse population of students and staff.
- Valid drivers license.
- This role requires a criminal background check.

Compensation: $36,388 - $54,582
