What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll and Accounting Specialist position at Highland Springs Country Club?
This full-time, non-exempt position is the primary person responsible for the payroll and accounts payable functions for both the Country Club and Homeowners Association.
This person will perform duties within the following payroll functional areas: employee file management, timekeeping, payroll processing, payroll reporting, payroll audits, FLSA calculations, payroll technologies, payroll taxes, policy implementation and other related projects. This person will also perform duties within the following Accounts Payable functional areas: vendor file management, credit application processing, W-9 compliance and collection, reciprocal club billing,
Invoice and credit memo processing, bill payments and vendor reconciliations. They will provide support and acts as backup to Human Resources for on-boarding of new employees and benefit enrollment/cancellation; provide support and act as backup to Controller for Accounts Receivable function; and provides support in other Administrative, Accounting, or general Club areas as needed.
Education and Qualifications:
- 2-5 years Payroll experience required; experience processing tipped payroll preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll taxes, regulatory reporting requirements and applicable wage and hour laws required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, accounting degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills including intermediate, or better, proficiency using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive, data driven tasks with minimal supervision.
Skills and Abilities:
- Problem analysis and solution development.
- Able to communicate, both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
- Monitor deadlines and adjust workload to meet deadlines and keep other work/projects in play.
- Compute, analyze, and record numbers accurately using 10-key, spreadsheets, and industry specific software
- Follow established procedures for keeping accurate records and recommend changes for greater efficiency.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
