Job Description
You will be building the most modern credit solution for Highnote. You will have the opportunity to design and build our application from the ground up (with a plan to scale up to 100x). The application will be solutioned and built for flexibility and scalability.
We are looking for a solutions oriented Principal Software Engineer who will work across engineering teams providing best practices for architecture and design across the organization. This Principal Engineer will be working closely with multiple teams cross functionally (eg. product management) to build solutions required for Highnote.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to be a senior member of the team and mentor other engineers!
Our tech stack: Spring boot, Java, Spanner, GRPC, Proto, GCP, GraphQL.
What you’ll be doing
- Building secure and compliant platform products that solve customer needs
- Writing high quality and robustly tested code, mostly in Java
- Understanding customer problems to build the right solutions
- Documenting your work to support our rapidly-scaling company
- Interfacing with a variety of the company’s domains to strengthen our platform
- Design, develop and scale new platform capabilities.
- Own and cascade best practices across the engineering organization.
- Implement engineering process improvements
- Serve as a mentor to engineers on the team
- Provide expert advice to other engineers within the company.
What we are looking for
- 10 years of experience in backend/enterprise application development
- Cloud experience (GCP, AWS)
- Previous experience designing and implementing service oriented architecture
- Previous experience building a scalable application from ground up
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team oriented environment.
- Bonus: Experience in building scalable payments processing platforms.
