Job Summary:
As a Mental Health Paramedic you will be responsible for providing care and respond to all EMS and First Aid needs and to ensure quality patient care through EMS and First Aid Guidelines. EMT must be licensed by the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities:
- Check equipment, maintain equipment, report needs for equipment.
- Lead and coordinate patient treatments and report to other HCP.
- Evaluate the patient’s physical, mental and emotional condition.
- Attend to patient’s needs before, during and after medical treatment.
- Use tech equipment and tools to monitor patients.
- Collaborate with providers and ensure continuity of care.
- Write and submit concrete and accurate patient reports.
- Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards.
- Keep abreast with new treatment and medical procedures through continuous training.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office
- Be able to check inventory, log medications administrated, ensure compliance.
- Effectively communicate with HCP’s, co-workers, patients and their caregivers
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as a paramedic
- Knowledge of medical procedures, terminology and medications
- Ability to stay calm and make the right decisions in stressful situations
- Adaptable with a great deal of calm
- Excellent working knowledge of medical equipment and devices
- Valid driver’s license
- Georgia Paramedic License
- NREMT Paramedic
- BLS and ACLS Certifications
- EHR (Athena) experience highly preferred
