The Opportunity
The Development Director will be the strategic and operational lead for HighView’s fundraising efforts, working in close partnership with the CEO and Board to drive significant revenue growth and sustainability. You’ll expand and manage a diverse portfolio of supporters (including high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, institutional funders, and corporate partners) and help shape the future of an organization committed to driving true mobility.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for an experienced, strategic & entrepreneurial fundraiser. In a crowded nonprofit landscape, HighView offers a rare opportunity to scale an innovative organization that is changing the game for workforce development here in Colorado.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Lead transformational $3M fundraising campaign to ensure HighView’s growth.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
- Grow and manage a portfolio of individual donors, family foundations, corporate sponsors, and institutional funders to achieve overall funding goals.
- Lead all stages of donor engagement: identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship.
Donor Communications & Storytelling
- Craft compelling materials — including pitch decks, proposals, reports, and campaign collateral — that clearly communicate HighView’s mission, impact, and vision.
- Oversee donor-facing communications and marketing in collaboration with program staff.
- Build long-term relationships with supporters who believe in our students and our model.
Foundation & Corporate Partnerships
- Identify, pursue, and steward institutional funding opportunities.
- Lead the development of grant applications, LOIs and reports.
- Develop unique corporate sponsorship opportunities and assist CEO with enhancing existing strategic partnerships through increased funding & career placement opps.
Organizational Leadership
- Collaborate with the CEO and Board to set fundraising goals and monitor progress.
- Maintain systems for tracking donor engagement, reporting, and pipeline development.
- Work alongside the CEO to sign large-scale, transformational funding partnerships.
Core Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or B2B corporate sales, with a track record of securing large gifts or grants from individuals, foundations, and/or corporations.
- Excellent communication skills, with a confident, engaging presence in meetings and compelling written storytelling and proposal writing.
- Bold, strategic thinker with a bias toward execution and results.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: thrives in a fast-moving, early-stage environment with a strong sense of ownership and flexibility.
- Experience collaborating with senior company leaders or boards of directors.
- Comfort with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and donor pipeline tracking.
- Experience in the education, workforce development, or economic mobility space (ideal).
- Experience closing six- and seven-figure gifts (ideal).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000-$95,000 (Compensation/title will be commensurate with experience)
- Bonus: Opportunity for discretionary year-end bonus based on performance of individual and company
- Insurance: Health, dental, & vision insurance coverage for all employees

- Location: Hybrid; requires frequent in-person meetings with current and prospective donors and corporate partners.
