What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Hilite International?
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
This position is responsible for the planning and the standardization of Hilite’s Business Unit Engine US Quality Management System (QMS) and its effective implementation for the region (i.e.; region being US manufacturing operations & support facilities) to ensure product quality, product and process reliability, compliance to customer requirements, continuous improvement, and conformance to engineering specifications in a manner consistent with Hilite International standards.
Key Objectives:
- Ensure a comprehensive and standard Quality system throughout the region (US)
- Implements and coordinates QMS system for all US sites
- Coordinates and performs quality systems audits
- Support US sites to achieve quality objectives
- Meet and exceed Customer Quality expectations.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Greater than five years of experience in a quality engineering related function. The candidate must be able to define problems, communicate effectively across several different manufacturing disciplines, coordinate team activities, and ensure that solutions for problems are communicated clearly and effectively. The candidate must have experience and ability to audit TS 16949 and customer specific supplier quality requirements. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills to work with internal teams.
DIMENSION: Coordinate, track, and facilitate communication concerning QMS, quality strategy, system changes or quality concerns related to all ongoing and new product issues related to quality, manufacturing, product engineering, product improvement, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the Standardization of Quality Management System (QMS) including but not limited to the:
- Definition
- Deployment throughout the US region
- Training
- Auditing
- Maintenance
- Continual Improvement
- Policy deployment supporting external certifications (TS-16949 & ISO-14001)
- Site audits related to QMS, TS-16949 & ISO-14001 along with coordinating the appropriate corrective actions.
- Quality policy implementation
- Assist in standardizing quality tools (root cause analysis, Kaizen events) used in the US region.
- Quality process and systems audits
- Develop and issue monthly reporting of regional quality related data / concerns from all sites (Hilite & customers).
- Customer Quality
- Score card management and improvement plans.
- Warranty analysis & improvement planning.
- Interact with suppliers including quality audits in the development of standardized supplier development process
- Assist in annual budgeting and investment planning
- Assist the Sr. Quality Manager US in establishing and implementing systems and procedures that will support the company’s commitment to continuously improve the overall quality level of HIlite’s products.
- Participate in HIPE (Advance Quality Planning) activities for new products and process introduction/release, including but not limited to product &d PFMEA’s and cause and affect analysis, as well as process flow diagrams and control Plans.
