Job Title: Quality Control Technician/ R&D Associate

Job Summary
Quality Control technician provides an internal service to verify that operations are achieved within production of different raw materials to finished product. Quality control line technician is responsible, for the consistent and detailed monitoring of the plant floor operations at different stations of responsibility as well as, performing quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products.Monitors line, Magnet trap, packing, and labeling at different points within production operations.
General Accountabilities
Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary
- QC is responsible for tracking paperwork and submitting the correct information and protocols.
- Will be responsible for the some oversight of 10 to 15 production operators on your shift & be able to work in conjunction with production supervisor/sanitation lead/packaging lead & abide by rules set for from company policy & quality standards.
- Adheres to good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
- Ensures compliance with work instructions, standards and product specifications
- Takes actions to ensure that work environment is clean and well maintained
- Provide detailed shift summaries to Food Safety Manager/ COO.
- report any maintenance issues to proper management channel & assure area safety & cleanliness
- Monitors and directs Operators to ensure proper mixing of the ingredients for a consistent product
- Visually inspects and records information according to LOT on ingredients
- Checks temperature at all HACCP points of production, identifies quality concerns with ingredients and packing and brings them to the attention of management, monitors weighs and appearance of finished packaging.
- Observes good manufacturing practices of production employees
- Inspects and evaluates the cleaning and sanitizing operations, Inspects and understands packaging standards
- Inspects produce and dry ingredient systems, records all the work in proper forms, documents on the QA dispose authorization sheet all the products that are put on hold or disposed
- Oversees all QA and operations working on their shift, is responsible for tracking paperwork and submitting the correct information and protocols.
- Will be responsible for ensuring pulled samples for sensory & CCP sampling for QA department & log correctly information necessary in conjunction with supervisor/QA technician.
- QC will be responsible for testing product for quality assurance when production is not active.
- Be able to hold team accountable for following policies and procedures of company & production
- Perform job function in accordance with organizational policies & applicable government laws & regulations, as well as general sanitation duties as outlined by company policies.
- Assisting in the development of product prototypes (R&D).
- Assist the CEO with new product ideas.
- Accurately maintain R&D project related records.
- Perform and/or assist in developing/carrying out shelf-life studies.
- Act as substitute SQF Practitioner.
- Assist in developing standardized and digitized forms. Transform the paper-based forms into and electronic, web-based form.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION PREFERRED
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Bilingual, English and Spanish is a plus
Good organization, observation and communication skills
Uses time efficiently, follows safety rules, and is flexible and willing to help out in other job duties
Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision, handle and communicate quality control issues with a sense of urgency and importance.
Able to work with computers
Able to work in a Team
Ability to work with little supervision
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must be capable of standing, walking, for extended periods of time
- Must be capable of working in warm environment for the duration of shift
- Work fluctuating hours and days based on business needs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $26.00 per hour
