SCHEDULE: Full-time: Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM, Saturday as needed. Average 40 hours/week

SCOPE: The Financial Reporting Associate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of internal and external financial reporting as well as assisting with the financial accounting for Hills Bancorporation and Hills Bank and Trust Company.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Financial Reporting (30%)
- Preparation of internal management and board level financial reporting on a monthly basis, or as needed.
- Preparation of management and regulatory reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) including:
- 10-K (annually)
- 10-Q (quarterly for first three quarters of year)
- 8-K (as needed)
- Proxy Statement (annually)
- Specific Call Report schedules (quarterly)
- Shareholder Mailings:
- Prepare quarterly reports (three quarters)
- Prepare annual report.
Financial Accounting Duties (30%)
Ensures that the Bank's financial records are maintained in compliance with Bank policies, US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. The specific areas include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of various account reconciliations and supporting documentation, including investments related, leases and brokered deposits.
- Preparation of problem loan reporting, including troubled debt restructuring and non-accrual listings.
- Research on new accounting standard updates and other accounting related projects.
- Provide assistance to Financial Reporting Officer, SVP-Financial Reporting and CFO as needed.
Financial Related Duties: (30%)
Ensure that the following information reporting and control activities are completed in compliance with Bank policies.
- Preparation of Federal Home Loan Bank collateral reporting, Regulation F and other regulations.
- Assist with various financial forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Provide assistance to regulators and external auditors as required.

EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
- P.A. certificate preferred or relevant job experience.
- 3 years related accounting/auditing experience with public accounting experience.
- Must be able to work under stress, handle difficult situations, and work with deadlines.
- Position requires the ability to work before or after normal business hours, including Saturdays, to meet deadlines and attend various meetings.
