What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Counter and Sales Associate position at Hills Machinery Company LLC?
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to shop, field technicians and over counter customers while maintaining Parts KPIs for margin and profit.
- Identifying needed parts, using parts catalogs, computer system and OEM portals.
- Maintain a current knowledge base of all product offerings to identify and fulfill customer orders with required OEM and internal training.
- Process parts orders over phone, eCommerce and walk in customers.
- Respond to and manage telephone inquiries from both internal and external customers.
- Locate and obtain parts in warehouse environment.
- Keep parts counter and parts room neat and clean.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, and walking are occasionally required.
- Talking, hearing, and seeing with close visual acuity are frequently required.
- Keying data is repetitive motion and is frequently required.
- The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Training
We train via Case Web Academy both online and virtual. Will also train alongside one of our Parts managers, for hands on training.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledgeable of techniques of receiving, storing, and issuing parts and supplies.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment such as phone system, computer, fax, and calculator.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma and/or GED is required.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in parts sales and /or counter operations is required.
- Experienced and/or licensed Forklift operator a plus.

Compensation Negotiable Depending on Experience
