Summary
The Food service Worker performs routine food service work. Work involves preparing, portioning, distributing and serving food for regular and special diets, and sanitation of equipment, work areas, dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Handle food in accordance with federal and state guidelines. Follow kitchen and food safety procedures and practices.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
Participates in the distribution of food in a safe and sanitary manner according to food service policies.
Follows procedures for sanitation and storage of the dishes and food service equipment.
Follows required sanitation procedures for cleaning kitchen, stock room, food preparation areas and other areas of the kitchen.
Follows proper food handling in accordance to food service procedures, state and federal guidelines.
Keeps records and requisition for supplies/equipment as needed.
Daily log breakfast and lunch in the absence of the Food Service Manager.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience in food service work and ServSafe certification preferred. Graduation from a standard high school or GED. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
