Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Handling a large volume of cases requiring lien reductions and negotiations, simultaneously, for department attorneys as needed;
- Communicating with Medi-Cal, Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental health care providers in lien negotiation and resolution;
- Communicating with health insurance providers, private medical providers, and hospital / ER / EMS providers in lien negotiation and resolution;
- Communicating with personal injury clients when necessary in the course of lien negotiation and resolution;
- Maintaining electronic and hardcopy files in accordance with the Firm's policies and procedures;
- Performing other duties as assigned by Management and / or attorneys
- Negotiation / reduction of liens with medical providers and third-party payers upon resolution of injured party's claim.
- Preparing client disbursement agreements.
- Compiling and tabulating all associated client costs, medical bills, and fees.
- Verifying existence of all outstanding liens and costs.
- Preparing disbursement spreadsheet showing breakdown of attorney's fees and costs, and client's medical bills and total recovery.
- Prepare a settlement distribution sheet for each case
- Prepare lien reduction proposal letters
- Negotiate medical bills with doctors and medical providers
- Making sure checks are being requested and processed for payment of bills.
