We are currently looking to add a Construction Planner to support field operations for power delivery projects in the Amarillo, TX area. This individual will coordinate construction schedules, workforce, and material readiness to ensure successful execution of capital and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate brings a combination of field planning experience, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings and verify associated bill of materials
- Support all phases of the construction cycle – from planning and execution to post-project review and lessons learned
- Maintain and communicate up-to-date construction schedules, including critical path timelines
- Assemble and manage material packages for construction crews
- Identify labor, materials, and equipment needs; ensure timely allocation to support field activities
- Proactively escalate project risks and obstacles for timely resolution
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across construction management practices and systems
- Support accurate material forecasting and alignment with project budgets
- Govern work order data integrity and ensure consistency across execution workflows
- Track project scope, milestones, and deliverables to align with performance targets
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics to manage field materials and returns
- Champion safety culture and ensure contractor compliance with all site safety protocols
- Promote knowledge sharing across teams and lead implementation of process improvements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant field or construction planning experience
- Familiarity with utility or industrial facility operations and maintenance workflows
- Strong understanding of construction methods and field-based material logistics
- Working knowledge of supply chain lead times and production planning for technical equipment
- Ability to lead coordination efforts across multiple trade disciplines and contractors
- Proficiency with critical path method (CPM) scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage shifting priorities
- Willingness to travel periodically to job sites as required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
