Title: Technician (Electrical Tech Specialist)

Location: Alcoa, TN

Duration: 06 Months on W2

Shift: 12 hours rotating shift -
(2 on 2 off, 3 on 3 off)

(7-am - 7-pm or 7 pm -7-am)

Note: This position will require frequent shift and weekend line/maintenance support.

Description

Tennessee Operations is seeking an experienced and talented Electrical Technical Specialist to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP Operations business unit in Alcoa, TN.

Job Description

  • The Electrical Technical Specialist will provide technical troubleshooting skills to maintenance and operations to restore product flow, as well as provide technical leadership and training to craft employees.
  • They will assist the maintenance department in short and long-term outage planning, and assist supervisors and crafts in following up on VPM issues and items from the daily management action register.
  • This person would also be expected to develop, manage and implement small capital projects, major repairs and maintenance projects and provide process engineering support.
  • The person in this role is also expected to provide technical solutions to recurring design, process and application problems, and analyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities and develop solutions and system improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Work hand in hand with craft employees
  • Assist in justification of new equipment
  • Respond to trouble calls on a 24/7 basis
  • Design of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Integrated role as direct support of the Maintenance Organization.
  • Act as a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing personnel
  • Involvement with continuous improvement initiatives of manufacturing methods.
  • Interface with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve technical issues
  • Adhere to *** EH&S, quality, continuous improvement and other company policies

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Preferred)

Experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 5 years of experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles.
  • Experience in installing, programming and troubleshooting AC drives, DC drives and AB Logix5000 series Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • 5 years’ experience in product and process failure analysis and an understanding of world class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, FMEA, RCM SPC, TQM, etc.

Skills

  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient problem solving and creative thinking skills.
  • Strong maintenance background.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Gas fired combustion system exposure desired.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation including HART communications.

Requirement

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Minimum of 5 years of experience with electrical systems and controls utilized in industrial applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Gas fired combustion system exposure desired.
