HMT LLC has an open position for a Project Engineer, the primary owner of designated Engineering projects, responsible for executing projects according to customer’s specifications and being a key point of communication between the Engineering team and our Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Construction teams as required. The Project Engineer is to be a well-rounded individual able to balance Engineering Design with effective communication.

Responsibilities:
• Represent Engineering professionally with internal and external customers
• Support Sales and Project Management teams to review customer specifications, create bid designs, and recognize/communicate when custom solutions are required
• Effectively manage and take ownership of all assigned Engineering projects
• Utilize HMT’s design tools to aid in creating new designs, and collaborate with the Engineering team in creating custom solutions
• Communicate all project updates, including scope, schedules, and costs within the Engineering team and with associated Project Managers
• Create Engineering deliverables such as drawings, material required list, calculations, and reports
• Ensure deliverables are released accurately, meeting all project requirements
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Installation personnel to improve understanding and execution
• Support Research & Development activities such as prototyping, standardization, and automation
Position Requirements:
• Minimum BS in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Effectively communicate technical subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences (written and spoken)
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS, SAP 2000, or related 3D Engineering Design/Finite Element Analysis software
• Applicants with 2-5 years of experience as a design engineer with an emphasis on structural applications are preferred
• Applicants with Inventor and/or AutoCAD experience are preferred
