We are looking for a team-oriented transportation designer with Oklahoma DOT, Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, and/or local municipal transportation/roadway design experience who is knowledgeable in CAD design software. While the primary focus will be on local and statewide highway transportation projects, the candidate will have the opportunity to support other disciplines and projects through our Central States Office and firmwide transportation practice. This opportunity entails being responsible for performing a moderately supervised position in a team environment. Responsible for assisting assigned department by performing engineering-related tasks including research, development, calculations, design and delivery on assigned project(s). Leverages technical knowledge to assist in the execution and evaluation of project designs. Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.
This position will be located in our downtown Oklahoma City office.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for the preparation or modification of reports, plans, and designs for projects.
Develops project quantity and cost estimates.
Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field and 3 years of relevant experience, or
Associate's degree in Drafting and 5 years of relevant experience, or
In lieu of education, 7 years of related experience
What You'll bring:
Ability to work from design sketches and produce significantly complete plans with some supervision.
Proficiency with transportation terminology.
Ability to express your ideas and questions clearly when discussing design with your team.
Proficiency with, or ability to quickly become proficient in Bentley Microstation software (OpenRoads, InRoads).
What We Prefer:
Good time management skills.
Experience with 3D roadway modeling.
Experience with transportation projects.
Good communication skills.
