This position reports directly to the accounting manager and is responsible for payroll administration, month-end close, general ledger account reconciliations, accounting for raw material inventory, fixed asset management, and other related accounting operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinate with managers and the corporate payroll team to process payroll accurately and efficiently.
- Support the business unit through the analysis and explanation of the business unit’s monthly expenses.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure financial statements are supported by both proper and sufficient documentation.
- Verify part numbers are costed accurately and on a timely basis.
- Monitor the business unit’s raw material inventory balance and reconcile to the general ledger on a monthly basis; troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Work with materials team to manage inventories (i.e. reduce slow-moving/obsolete inventory and months on hand).
- Coordinate the business unit’s Annual Plan and Budget process (i.e., the development and updating of the standard cost files for the plan year, the development of departmental budgets, etc.).
- Manage day to day accounting functions including, reconciliations, capital justification, and fixed assets monitoring.
- Be proficient in all corporate financial policies and procedures and ensure adherence.
- Participate in and eventually lead process improvement efforts.
- Apply 80/20 thinking and sound judgment to reduce complexity and work with team to simplify processes. Monitor, report, and drive toolbox projects.
- Responsible for ensuring all journal entries are completed accurately and timely to meet all month-end close due dates.
- Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 3 years of general accounting experience in manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to resolve issues/conflicts in a timely manner.
- Aggressive self-starter who is able to function under minimal supervision.
- Strong computer, oral, and written communication skills is required (Word and Excel).
- Proven track record of leadership, strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, effective listening skills, and approachability.
- D365 experience is a plus
