What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gymnastics Instructor position at Hockomock YMCA?
The Bernon Family Branch of the Hockomock Area YMCA in Franklin, MA is hiring Gymnastics Instructors. The Gymnastics Instructor teaches preschool and school age gymnastics programs, and is responsible for creating a positive, safe, engaging, and progressive environment for all participants.
Essential Functions
- Plans, teaches, and organizes all assigned classes according to current YMCA policies and procedures
- Maintains facility and all equipment, reporting all concerns to supervisor
- Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including those pertaining to child protection and emergency and safety (i.e. completes incident and accident reports)
- Performs administrative duties, as needed, including proper use of time clock, taking attendance, and tracking progress
- Supports the annual Reach Out For Youth campaign
- Attends all staff meetings and mandatory trainings
- Gymnastics experience, either as a gymnast, coach, or instructor
- Enjoys working with children
- First Aid, CPR certified or within first 90 days of employment
- Ability to spot participating gymnasts
- At least 16 years of age
- Ability to effectively communicate with participants, staff, and caretakers
- Friendly, outgoing, and personable instructor style
Salary : $25,800 - $32,700
