We are seeking a Technology/Low Voltage Designer to assist project teams in creating a multitude of technology construction documents for healthcare, higher education, civic, and commercial building-type projects. The Technology/Low Voltage Designer will be responsible for the design of the structured cabling systems typical in commercial construction, taking into consideration the project budget, client objectives, and coordination with all related disciplines. Other responsibilities include keeping up with trends in technology, attending professional development events, and staying in touch with local industry professionals. Ideal candidates will have attention to detail, a strong technical background, a desire for organization, and effective communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Industry BICSI RCDD certification is required. P ossession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and willingness to use an insured personal vehicle in the course of employment.
Qualifications/Skills: Candidate must be p roficient Microsoft Office, AutoCAD & Revit. Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without the need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail oriented and able to perform each essential duty effectively.

Essential Responsibilities
- Technical design and quality control on assigned projects, including all system calculations and layouts
- Design of structured cabling systems, audio/visual, security (door access & CCTV), and nurse call systems.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and all other disciplines to develop coordinated technology designs
- Maintain best practice engineering methods
- Oversee and assist with the production of design documents from concept through detailed design for new buildings, renovations, and additions to existing facilities
- Develop project specifications
- Document design and coordination decisions
- Explore and implement ways to improve cost-efficiency both internally and externally
- Attend project coordination meetings with project team including contractor, client and/or owner
- Construction administration, site visits and shop drawing review per project requirements
- Mentor less experienced designers
- Interacting and maintaining positive relationships with clients
- Provide quality assurance review on projects
