Position responsible for supervising the activities of the special procedure department as well as administer radiological diagnostic examinations and ability to perform in other complex modalities. Serves as a Preceptor, mentor, and resource to staff as well as assists Management with supervisory responsibilities.
Position Responsibilities
Administers Roentgen rays to patients, operates X-ray equipment, prepares patients room, equipment and supplies. The main role of the radiographer in vascular intervention is to be knowledgeable in supplies, positioning of tube and patient, procedures and contrast injection.
Education: Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program in an AMA approved school.
Work Experience:
One year Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferredLicense/Certification: Registered (ARRT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Licensed by the State of Illinois (IEMA); Current CPR Certification
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Education: Graduate of an approved School of Radiological Technology.
2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Special Procedures Technologist.
3. License/Certification: Registered Radiological Technologist by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT-R) and Licensed by the Texas Department of Health (CMRT).
4. Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1 . Prepares patients for radiological exam, explains procedure and ensures technical quality.2. Organizes daily work for technologists/dept.
3. Reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to the Supervisor/Manager.
4. Participates in P.I. activities established by Imaging Services.
5. Takes emergency calls within the department.
6. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
