Holiday Inn & Suites, a renowned brand with over 69 years of service, is seeking a Chief Engineer to take over the maintenance department at our I44 location. As the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the upkeep, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the entire hotel facility. This includes managing the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct visual and physical assessments of the hotel's physical structure, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and other related equipment to ensure safe and efficient maintenance and operation.
- Assign and verify completion of routine maintenance and repairs for public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets, and back-of-the-house areas.
- Hire, train, supervise, and allocate personnel for the maintenance department, including Engineers, Painters, Carpenters, Plumbers, Upholsterers, and Grounds Keepers.
- Provide regular updates to the General Manager and department heads regarding the condition of the building structure, systems, and equipment, along with cost-effective proposals for maintenance.
- Adhere to budgets, purchasing policies, and controls, including outside contractor bids and schedules.
- Maintain effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs.
Supportive Functions:
- Maintain adequate supply of materials and equipment for day-to-day operating and maintenance requirements.
- Establish organized administrative and filing systems for efficient handling of correspondence, reports, and requisitions.
- Manage inventory, maintenance, and storage of tools, products, materials, and equipment.
- Be available to report to the hotel in the event of any emergency requiring the skills and expertise of the Chief Engineer.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities as required by management.
- Serve as a member of the Executive Committee in larger hotels.
