At our senior living community, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will transform living spaces and enhance the overall aesthetic of our community. Your work will directly impact the comfort and happiness of our residents, making their home a place of warmth and joy.

General Information

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Orders Materials as needed and in an efficient and effective manner.
• Performs repairs on various types of structures.
• Performs General Carpentry
• Performs Demolition work and prepares work area for new construction.
• Makes recommendations of appropriate carpentry material usage, including code requirements for a healthcare facility.
• Assumes responsibility for putting away stock deliveries.
• Provides guidance to assigned staff. Duties include assigning and reviewing work, training and assisting when necessary, etc.
• Other job duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of carpentry and repair experience is required.
• Knowledge in finish carpentry, hanging cabinets, installing crown, installing laminate countertops, and other similar tasks.
• Analytical ability to identify and resolve installation & repair problems.
• Proof of a valid Michigan driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance is required. The incumbent is also required to have a reliable means of transportation.
  
  

Working Conditions

• Work involves some exposure to dust, dirt, noise, tight spaces, etc. when performing maintenance and repairs.
• Work involves some exposure to resident care areas with minimal exposure to communicable diseases when using standard precaution methods.
• Evening, weekend and/or holiday hours may be required.
  
  

Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
• Full-Time, 40 hours per week

• Wage range: $21 - $24 per hour. (Wages are dependent upon years of experience).
