Role: GIS Enterprise Administrator
Rate: $44.55 - $50.49 w2, dependent on skills and qualifications
Duration: 6 months with potential to extend or convert
Location: Golden Valley, hybrid (flexible) but would need to be able to come on-site
The GIS Enterprise Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing a Geographic Information System (GIS) by overseeing the data integrity, system infrastructure, user access, and technical operations, ensuring smooth functionality and accurate data analysis for various organizational needs; tasks include database management, data quality control, system updates, user guidance and troubleshooting technical issues related to GIS software and applications.
Required Skills:
- Experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS products including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, Field Data Collection Apps and Maps, Dashboards, and Experience Builder
- Experience with GIS data management and analysis, spatial data testing and QA/QC, systems implementation planning and deployment
- Strong understanding of geospatial data formats, projections, and coordinate systems
- General database management skills and practices (SQL)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills for working with users of varying skill levels and experience with ArcGIS
- Programming knowledge (Python, JavaScript) for supporting and debugging ArcGIS solution development or automation of system administration tasks preferred.
Key responsibilities of the GIS Enterprise Administrator:
System Administration:
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between third party managed services provider and the users of ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Installing, configuring, administering, maintaining, and coordinating patching of ArcGIS software and related hardware.
- Managing geodatabases, including data structures, schema design, and data integrity checks.
- Monitoring system performance, up-time, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing updates.
- Manage and enforce data security and user access controls to maintain the integrity and protect confidentiality of the data hosted by the system.
Data Management:
- Partnering with the client's GIS Support team to implement best practices for acquiring, cleaning, validating, transforming, and using geospatial data from various sources.
- Developing and maintaining data standards, including attribute rules and data quality control procedures.
- Supporting data workflows and ensuring data consistency across different GIS applications and environments.
Application Development:
- Partnering with the client's GIS Support team to support the design and development of custom GIS applications, web maps, and dashboards to meet business requirements.
- Partnering with the client's GIS Support team to integrate GIS data with other organizational systems and databases.
User Support:
- Providing technical training and support to ArcGIS power users on data access, analysis, and mapping tools.
- Lead and manage all user support requests and partnering with the client's GIS Support team to troubleshoot GIS related problems.
Project Management:
- Participating in GIS project planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to identify GIS needs and requirements.
- Assist with organizational change management efforts related to changes happening in ArcGIS Online or Enterprise.
