Job Summary: Warehouse Supervisor
Supervise the warehouse staff and all warehousing operations that include shipping, kitting, receiving and staging material for work orders and inter-company product transfers between facilities. Ensure inventory accuracy and manage the daily inventory control activities. Establish and maintain a Quality focus to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements regarding product identification and storage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prioritize the daily workload of the department’s leads and staff members and coordinate their activities.
- Oversee department operations and trouble shoot immediate problems; assist other areas of the department workload as needed.
- Assist with training new and temporary personnel. Maintain and update appropriate record keeping of department training records.
- Ensure thorough, accurate, and timely data entry is maintained in the computerized inventory control system.
- Perform reviews of manufacturing and quality documentation review, update, create and suggest changes, as appropriate, to department operating procedures and Manufacturing Documents.
- Maintains compliance with principles of accepted employee conduct as identified in the company employee handbook and as specified in departmental policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates professional responsibilities by cooperating with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and departmental goals and objectives.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with company officials, business partners, subordinates, suppliers, vendors, customers, and other staff at multiple sites.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to maximize the return from Internal Assessments and QA Audits to provide objective evidence of adherence to cGMPs, FDA regulations, OSHA and DOT guidelines and Company procedures.
- Oversees cycle count audits
- Assure that all Training records are maintained in accordance with established procedures.
- Participate in other assigned projects and programs as directed by Management, ensuring that issue remediation is deployed as necessary.
- Ensure safety is maintained in Warehouse
Physical Demands
- Sit; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lifting/pushing/pulling and carrying products weighing up to 45 pounds
- Potential Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration and/or moderate noise levels.
- Potential Exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials.
- Safety Shoes compliant with site specific policies/procedures must be worn in designated areas
Qualifications
- Must understand warehousing principles and techniques including the staging of work orders, the daily cycle count program, the receipt and processing of purchase orders and troubleshooting of minor problems.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Must have a valid California driver’s license with good driving record.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Some college coursework or materials management training highly desirable.
Experience
- The required skills, knowledge and abilities typically acquired through a minimum of 5 years experience in a warehouse environment, one year of which should be in a lead or supervisory capacity working in a multiple task-warehousing environment.
- Hands on experience working in receiving, stockroom, inventory control, manufacturing packaging and shipping functional areas and in operating various warehousing equipment.
- Data entry experience; knowledge of computerized Operation/Inventory systems, shipment manifest systems, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of MRP, JIT, FIFO, and Purchasing process.
- Experienced in cGMP and ISO.
- Familiarity with the storage and handling of biological and hazardous materials desired.
- Forklift trained and certified preferred.
