Responsibilities of a Project Accountant include, but are not limited to:
- Creating, routing, and tracking commitments
- Collect, verify, and track subcontractor compliance documentation on a company and project level
- Process vendor invoices and pay applications accurately and timely
- Assist with project startup and closeout procedures
- Understand your assigned projects’ contract requirements
- Review and finalize owner or partner pay applications with all compliant documentation
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
- Collect and track notices of subcontracts and issuing related notices of payment
- Order and track project supplies as requested
- Assist with vendor maintenance
- Oversee and understand financial aspects of assigned projects
- Be readily available as a supportive resource for the Project Management and Superintendent Teams
- Provide relevant financial information for project meetings
Expectations:
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects
- Ability to translate financial information to nonfinancial team members
- Ability to recognize issues and raise concerns to the project team based on reviewing financial data for your assigned projects
- Project expediting and administrative tasks completed in accordance with the project schedule
- Ability to travel to job sites occasionally, as needed
Skills, Experience, & Work Environment:
- Attention to detail, strong communication skills, conflict resolution, organization, adaptability, accountability, and professionalism
- 1-5 years of project accounting or project administration experience
- Ability to work in a modern environment with a strong understanding of the Microsoft Suite
- Notary, or the ability to become a Notary within six months of hire
- Experience with Procore, Docusign, hh2, and Sage 300 would be a plus
- Constant time spent at a computer screen and typing
