Description
Holy Cross School seeks a middle school teacher for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. Holy Cross School serves a diverse community of students within a nurturing and family-focused climate. We are looking for a motivated teacher who will lead a positive, warm, and joyful classroom and has enthusiasm for learning and teaching.
The teacher fulfills the mission of the Catholic Church by planning, guiding, and evaluating the students' learning process within the framework of the school's philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The teacher provides the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities to maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth. The teacher has decision-making responsibilities in keeping with school policies and the Diocesan Administrative Manual. This position is hired by and evaluated by the Principal.
Responsibilities:
- An active member of a faith community and being a model of the teaching of Jesus.
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the school's mission.
- Promotes positive relationships and effective communication with all staff, parents, and students.
- Demonstrates knowledge of best teaching practices.
- Prepares and implements effective lessons using the diocesan standards.
- Uses a variety of methods to assess and monitor students' progress.
- Maintains a positive learning environment and sets high behavior standards within the classroom and building.
- Demonstrates professional responsibility in confidentiality, sound judgment, dress, enforcing diocesan and school policies, and general behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the building administration.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited college or university.
- Teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement.
